Cookies & local storage

This site runs on strictly necessary storage by default. Measurement and functional preferences are switched off until you opt in, and can be withdrawn at any time. Last updated 8 September 2026.

§ 01What is stored

cig.consent.v2 · Strictly necessary

Records your consent decision, the categories chosen, the method and the timestamp, so the banner is not shown again and the decision can be evidenced.

Local storage, first party · Retention: 180 days, then consent is requested again
cig.presentation · Functional preference

Remembers whether you selected light or dark presentation. Set only when you use the toggle or enable functional preferences.

Local storage, first party · Retention: Until cleared by you
Edge and platform request logs · Strictly necessary

Server-side request records, including IP address and user agent, used to deliver pages, rate-limit and defend against abuse. Not cookies and not used for profiling.

Server log, not stored in your browser · Retention: Rolling operational window, not exceeding 12 months
Audience measurement · Measurement

Aggregate page and referral counts. Not enabled unless you opt in. No advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking identifiers are set at any time.

First-party, opt-in only · Retention: Not set unless consent is given

§ 02How consent is handled

Nothing non-essential fires first

No measurement or functional storage is written before an affirmative opt-in. Closing or ignoring the banner is not consent.

Refusal is as easy as acceptance

Accept all and Reject non-essential are presented with equal prominence in a single click.

Granular control

Each non-essential category can be enabled or disabled independently and saved.

Withdrawal at any time

Consent can be changed or withdrawn from the footer control on every page, with the same effort as giving it.

No dark patterns

No pre-ticked boxes, no consent walls on legal notices, no nagging re-prompts inside the consent period.

No sale or sharing

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we honour Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out.

Browser controls can also block or clear storage for this site. Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent the consent record from persisting, in which case the notice will appear on each visit. Questions: support@cerebellum.online. See also the Privacy Notice and Compliance architecture.
